Abstract

The aims of this study was to identify the learning factors that influence students and students motivation in joining English Extracurricular at MAN 1 INHIL. This study used two indicators: learning factors and motivation. The design of this study used descriptive quantitative to describes the data in the form of numbers generated from the actual situation using statistical data. The population and sample of this research was the students who joining in the English Extracurricular at MAN 1 INHIL. The amount was 23 students joining in the English Extracurricular at MAN 1 INHIL. The researcher used Purposive Sampling as the sampling technique. For the research instrument and the data collection techniques used questionnaire as the research instrument with a format likert scale. The results of this study showed, most members of English Extracurricular choose ”Strongly Agree” with a percentage 80,2% for indicator of learning factors and 82,8% for indicator of motivation. Based on findings, students participated in English Extracurricular had a lack of factors and motivation to learn English in the classroom. Then, the students are interested in participating in English Extracurricular to improve their English skills outside of class.
