Abstract
This research aimed to find out students’ perception toward the use of TikTok application in learning English vocabulary at the eleventh grade of SMAN 2 Tembilahan. This research used a descriptive quantitative method. The population of this research consisted of 71 eleventh-grade students of SMAN 2 Tembilahan, while the sample consisted of 41 students selected through purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 20 statements. The data were analyzed using percentage analysis and mean score. The findings showed that the students had positive perceptions toward the use of TikTok application in learning English vocabulary. This result was indicated by the mean score of 83.88, which was categorized as positive. The positive perception was reflected in students’ interest in English vocabulary learning content on TikTok, TikTok’s ability to help students organize and remember vocabulary, and students’ views that TikTok is an interesting, useful, and motivating medium for learning English vocabulary. Therefore, it can be concluded that the eleventh-grade students at SMAN 2 Tembilahan had positive perceptions toward the use of TikTok application as a medium for learning English vocabulary.
